How quickly can my company go live with mesraHR?
Most small and medium teams are live in under 48 hours. Because mesraHR is cloud-based, there's nothing to install on a server. We give you pre-formatted bulk-upload templates for employee data, so migrating from spreadsheets or an older system is fast and low-risk. Larger organisations with complex payroll rules may take a little longer, and our team helps with the setup either way.

Do we need to buy fingerprint scanners or punch-card machines?
No. There's no hardware to buy and no maintenance contracts. Employees clock in from their own smartphones using GPS geofencing or Face ID. For environments where personal phones aren't practical — such as a factory floor or a reception desk — you can set up a shared "Kiosk Station" on any standard tablet, Android or iPad.

What if we're moving from another HR or payroll system?
Switching is straightforward. You export your existing employee records and we import them using our bulk-upload templates, including salary details, leave balances and contribution settings. Your historical data comes across so you don't start from zero. Our onboarding team reviews your first payroll run with you to confirm everything matches before you go fully live.

Is mesraHR suitable for small businesses, or only large companies?
mesraHR is built for Malaysian SMEs first. Whether you run a 5-person startup or a 200-person operation across multiple branches, the platform scales with you. Pricing is per-user, so you only pay for the team you actually have — and you can add people as you grow without changing systems.

Is mesraHR updated for the Employment Act 2022 amendments?
Yes. mesraHR is kept current with Malaysian regulatory changes, usually ahead of the enforcement date. The 2022 amendments are fully built in, including the 45-hour maximum work week, 98-day maternity leave, 7-day paternity leave, and tracking for Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA). When the law changes, the platform changes with it.

Are mesraHR payroll reports accepted by LHDN and KWSP?
Yes. The payroll engine follows the latest LHDN (PCB), EPF/KWSP, SOCSO/PERKESO and EIS contribution tables. mesraHR generates the exact statutory files you submit each month — including CP39, Borang A and Borang 8A — formatted to the specifications these agencies expect, so submissions go through cleanly.

Does mesraHR handle state-specific public holidays?
Yes. Malaysia's public holidays vary by state, and mesraHR applies the correct calendar automatically based on each employee's location. That means leave, overtime and rest-day calculations stay accurate whether your team is in Selangor, Johor, Sabah or anywhere else — without HR maintaining the list by hand.

Can it calculate overtime and leave according to Malaysian rules?
Yes. Overtime, rest-day and public-holiday pay are calculated using the rates set out in the Employment Act, and leave entitlements follow Malaysian standards including annual, sick, maternity and paternity leave. Because the rules are built in, your managers approve requests and the system applies the correct entitlement automatically.

How does mesraHR calculate monthly payroll and deductions?
mesraHR pulls attendance, leave, claims and overtime into a single payroll run, then applies PCB, EPF, SOCSO and EIS automatically using the current tables. You review the figures, approve, and generate payslips and statutory files in the same workflow. What used to take days of spreadsheet work becomes a few guided steps each month.

Can employees view their own payslips and tax forms?
Yes. Every employee gets self-service access through the mobile app to view and download payslips and year-end forms such as the EA form, without emailing HR. This cuts down repetitive admin requests and gives your team transparency over their own pay and contributions.

Does it support multiple pay cycles or allowances?
Yes. You can configure recurring allowances, deductions, commissions and one-off adjustments, and apply different pay structures across departments or roles. Custom earnings and deductions flow through to payslips and statutory calculations correctly.

Is mesraHR PDPA compliant?
Yes. mesraHR is built to comply with the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010. Employee data is encrypted using 256-bit SSL and stored on enterprise-grade cloud servers with strict, role-based access controls. Only authorised people in your organisation can see the records relevant to their role.

Does the mobile app track my location around the clock?
No. GPS is used only at the exact moment of a clock-in, clock-out, or site-visit check-in. mesraHR does not track movement in the background, during breaks, or after working hours. Employee privacy is a deliberate design choice, not an afterthought.

Who can see employee records and how is access controlled?
Access is governed by custom roles and permissions. You decide exactly what each manager, HR officer or department head can view and edit — for example, a line manager might approve leave for their team without seeing company-wide salary data. This keeps sensitive information on a need-to-know basis.

What can employees do from the mobile app?
The mesraHR mobile app turns the phone into a full self-service HR tool. Employees can clock in and out with GPS or Face ID, apply for leave and submit expense claims, view payslips and leave balances, check company announcements, and check in for site visits when working off-site. This removes a huge volume of manual requests from your HR team.

How does GPS geofencing and site-visit tracking work?
You define a location radius (a geofence) around an office, branch or client site. Employees can only clock in when they're physically within that zone, which prevents buddy-punching and confirms attendance at the right place. For field teams, site-visit check-ins log where and when staff arrive at a client location — useful for sales, service and security roles.

Is there a minimum contract or any hidden fees?
No hidden fees and no long lock-in. MesraHR uses simple per-user pricing with no setup charges and no maintenance fees. Local customer support over WhatsApp and email is included with every subscription, so the price you see is the price you pay.

How do I claim the RM5,000 Geran PMKS Madani?
As an Approved Technology Service Provider (TSP), mesraHR helps eligible Malaysian SMEs through the grant process. Our team helps you prepare the documentation and manage the submission. Subject to eligibility and approval, the government co-funds a portion of your subscription — up to RM5,000 — paid directly to us, lowering what you pay out of pocket. We'll confirm your eligibility before you commit.

Am I eligible for the grant?
The Geran PMKS Madani is aimed at Malaysian micro, small and medium enterprises adopting digital tools. Eligibility depends on factors such as business registration and company size, and final approval rests with the grant authority. The simplest path is to talk to our grant team — we'll review your situation and tell you honestly whether it's worth applying.
